Description
The Michael Lacy – Mesh Back Cap is named for U.S. veteran Michael Lacy
Lacy retired in 2015 from the United States Army after 21 years of active-duty service. The first 6 years was as a light wheel mechanic, but he desired to serve his country in a different capacity, so he invested the next 15 years serving as a Green Beret in the US Special Forces.
Lacy had the privilege serving in 2 Afghanistan combat tours where he earned 2x BSMs & ARCOM w V device for his efforts during those deployments. It’s also where an RPG hit his truck, resulting in a broken back. Lacy now has a L4-S1fused together (pins, rods, screws cadaver bone) holding his spine in place. He says it was an honor to defend the afghani people from the Taliban forces.
Lacy was also given the opportunity to deploy in the Central & South American Areas of Responsibility where he took part in hostage recovery, anti-terror & counter drug missions, resulting in a Jsam & Jcom awards for their successes on those missions. Additionally, Lacy had the privilege of attending ranger school, being a jump master and completing combat dive school where he served his SF career on dive teams and running a dive training facility.
Since retirement Lacy has struggled with PTS, Post- concussion effects & chronic pain from his back surgery. Lacy says “I have found you can’t always pick out all the weeds, but you can always plant more grass. Investing myself in others; family, friends and those in need through golf charities like Tee It Up for the Troops has helped me build healthier relationships & build great memories. God Bless America.”
